Discover the versatile technique of linocut printmaking during a morning.
Learn how to design a simple image on paper using one from your sketchbook or work from visuals provided. You'll then be shown how to transfer your image to lino and how to begin carving your design.
Working with Soft Cut as a chosen introductory lino block, we will practise basic linear mark making techniques, how to create positive and negative imagery all whilst discovering about various linocut tools, tips and tricks of the trade.
Test prints will be made by hand on Japanese paper and final prints will be printed on specialist printmaking paper using the printing press.
Take home your linocut block, drawings, test print and final print and the know-how to continue printmaking at home.
Small groups to ensure guided and personal tuition throughout the workshop.
Suitable for beginners or for those wishing to refresh their skills.
